Folkcraft® Custom Series Double Neck Dulcimer (Standard/Bass)

This Folkcraft double-neck dulcimer is built from the ground up with the performer in mind. The big addition over a standard instrument is the extra fretboard, set up to be a bass, but with the extra body size, you'll notice an increase in volume, sustain, and tone quality.

It has a mahogany body and spruce top, with a 27" VSL. Each fretboard features the Fishman Prefix Pro Blend system, giving you independent control over the sound of each neck. The system combines an undersaddle pickup with an internal microphone, with a blend control that lets you dial in anything from a clean, direct pickup sound to a more natural acoustic tone. You also get volume, bass, and treble controls, semi-parametric contour EQ, plus a notch filter and phase switch to help control feedback on stage.

The two necks make this an especially versatile performance instrument. Keep the standard dulcimer neck in your favorite tuning while using the second neck for bass lines, drones, accompaniment, or completely different tunings. There's no need to change instruments in the middle of a set—you've got two distinct voices ready to go in one instrument.

And even before you plug it in, the larger double-neck body makes a difference. There's more air moving inside the instrument, resulting in a bigger acoustic voice with plenty of resonance and sustain.
